huba: Alistair, come on,give us the names of materials used. Many people here understand English.I personally think that this hook may cause some unhooked fish as a gape seems to small.Otherwhise good dressed Oliver Edwards pattern.

Michał Pandel: Czy nóżki to są końcówki piór kuropatwy zakręcone dubbing twisterem? Widziałem coś takiego jak robi Oliver Edwards do swojego kiełża.

Wacham się co wystawić 5 czy 4. Ale raczej 5-ka :D
G: I am not sure how to edit the original post so i will give the dressing here:

Hook: Partridge K4A Size 10
Thread: Olive Roman Moser Power Silk
Underbody: Lead foil
Abdomen: Translucent nymph skin
Thorax: Translucent nymph skin
Gills: 3 grey ostrich herls
Legs: Golden pheasant center tail fibres
Ribbing: Tying thread

Tinting: Olive waterproof marker pen for dorsal surface of abdomen, black waterproof marker pen for dorsal surface of thorax.

This is my favourite fly for czech nymph fishing. Trout absolute'ly love it. I will also add that it is a very durable fly.

I also have a good photo of an Oliver Edwards beatis nymph that i tied some time ago, but its on my pc in scotland!! I had posted it on several websites though so if i can locate it i will post it here.

Regards
G
Pawel P: Very nice fly.
Good for polish nymphing (czech nymphing is a synonym)You should use first name
best regards
G: Is it a bad thing for me to say 'Czech Nymphing' on a Polish forum then? will many people take offence?

I do believe you to be correct Pawel. From what i have heard & read the technique was first used by the Polish team back in the eighties when the European Fly Fishing Championships was held on the Dunajec.
It must be annoying for you and many other Poles that the technique is now reffered to as Czech Nymphing by most fly fishers today.

Now, when i have some free time, at the top of my list of priorities is to learn to tie Polish Woven Nymphs.......
Pawel P: Don’t worry no one will chase you for that. It was kind of joke. The truth is that this technique was rejected by the majority of polish anglers as primitive one. Now the technique is no longer associated with polish fishing…Czech made a good promotion, and now you can find a lot of stuff about Czech nymph in the web.

By the way, there will be a meeting of our new fly-fishing club, I think we will perform some fly-tying. If you would like to come you are welcomed
G: Thanks for the invite Pawel. Where and when is it?

Regards
Ali
Pawel P: Tomorrow, Hotel Ester. There is more information in English on forum
