"These are wet-fly representations of sedges and are tied with bodies of many different colours.In Ireland where rouh bodies are the most popular it is strange to find that in these dressings the reverse is true and shop bought flies almost invariably have floss bodies.Their name is derived from the fact that wings are formed by the soft cinnamon landrail wing feather.A substitutefor this feather might be from the jay wing or golden pheasant wing.Hook Sizes 8-12.
Old dressing also used the landrail(corncrake) neck feather as a hackle."
